Class 13 + Weekend Updates

  • For the updates after class 13 and during the weekend, I mainly worked on organizing files and structure and finishing the preliminary blockout of the entire sequence. For scene 6 and 7 since I did not have the model yet, I replaced it with reference images for the camera angle.

  • After finishing the sequence edit, I moved on to the organization and optimization progress again. Since we had large scale scenes to handle, I tried to divide up environments grouping shot by shot, and divided the hip files for easier control. Also I modified the scene list for better understanding and communication.

  • I tried to test out current rendertime and check out how much we need to optimize extra for preventing problems when we move on to actual look development progress, and since the rendertime was pretty decent but the load took a while, I decided to reduce more polycount and memory usage for better workflow.

  • After these progresses, I started on dividing the primitives into material groups and also started assigning materials for each of the divided groups. This is still in progress, and I think it will take a while since there are a lot of materials and groups to divide up.
