After class 7 and during the weekend, I have been mainly working on pipeline organization, asset collecting and managing, and optimizing data for better control.
The biggest difficulties I am facing currently is the transition shot from the room of Hades to the balcony, and the connecting transition to the lake. Since three environments are integrated to each other, I was having difficulties in visualizing these four scenes, so decided to start on the layout of the environment first.
This was to get a better idea of the camera movement, and find angles that could create high visual quality.
I started off from collecting asset packs of buildings and environment. After collecting some of the needed assets, I went through optimization progress to decrease the polycounts, and delete all the unused attributes to save up memory usage. This was mainly because we had to create a city environment with a lot of buildings, but since the camera was far away, it did not have to be that high poly for extreme details.
I was able to reduce 80 percent of the memory usage, and cached out the optimized files for future usage.
Using these files, I started the layout of the city environment, and also modified the camera of scene 5, since we changed plans of the layout after discussion.
